Temporary Event Staff Needed

The Choir Games / Clash of the Choirs Event

We are looking for reliable, energetic and professional temporary staff to assist with The Choir Games, a school and community fundraising event bringing together choirs, sponsors, vendors, supporters and local SMEs.

This is a temporary event-based opportunity suitable for people who enjoy working with crowds, events, customer service, schools, youth and community programmes.

Vendor and Exhibition Support Assistants 

Minimum required: 2 people

Duties include assisting exhibition stalls, food vendors and sponsors with placement, basic queries, setup support and event rules.

Requirements:

Must be professional, helpful and able to communicate with business owners and vendors. 

Backstage / Choir Coordination Assistants

Minimum required: 4 people

Duties include assisting choirs with arrival, registration, waiting areas, stage timing, movement to and from the performance area, and communication with programme coordinators.

Requirements:

Must be disciplined, patient, good with learners and able to follow timing instructions. 

Event Assistants / General Crew

  • Minimum required: 6 people
  • Duties include assisting with setup, guiding attendees, supporting programme flow, helping vendors, carrying light event materials, and assisting the organising team where needed.

  • Requirements:
  • Must be reliable, physically active, respectful, and able to follow instructions quickly.

 

Ticketing and Entrance Assistants

  • Minimum required: 4 people
  • Duties include checking tickets, scanning or verifying proof of purchase, managing entry queues, issuing wristbands or access tags, and directing guests to the correct areas.

  • Requirements:
  • Must be trustworthy, organised, friendly and able to work under pressure.

 

Merchandise and Sales Assistants

Minimum required: 2 people

Duties include selling T-shirts, wristbands, caps, gift packs, programmes and other Choir Games merchandise. Staff will also assist with recording sales and stock movement.

Requirements:

Must be honest, numerate and comfortable handling cash or proof of payment.

 

Cleaning and Waste Support Staff

Minimum required: 4 people

Duties include keeping the venue clean, managing bins, cleaning spills, supporting restroom checks, and ensuring the event area remains safe and presentable.

Requirements:

Must be hardworking, neat and available throughout the event.

 

General Requirements

Applicants must be:

Reliable and punctual.

Able to work on their feet for long periods.

Respectful and professional.

Able to follow instructions.

Comfortable working with schools, families and the public.

Available for event briefing or training before the event.

Available on the full event day.

What We Offer

Practical experience

Staff will gain hands-on experience in event operations, ticketing, crowd support, vendor coordination, merchandise sales, backstage assistance and customer service.


Trainings

Basic training will be provided before the event so that each person understands their role, reporting lines, safety responsibilities and event flow.


Certificate of completion letter

Where required, temporary staff may receive a confirmation letter or certificate of participation for their event work experience.
